My
Nikon Coolpix S5 died on day five of 23 days on the playa this year. (One
month under warranty,not covered because it was purchased in Europe!) Luckily I
brought along a film camera specifically to take time lapse photos of
stars trails. In the chaos of this year's severe dust storms and
white outs, probably during the move from Temple Camp into Black Rock City, I lost the roll of film shot dedicated to star trails, though one attempt surfaced on
